How do I use the wipes?
Take out one wipe and slip it on your finger. The wipes come wet and ready to use. Gently wipe the inside of the ear flap and the parts of the ear you can see. Use a new wipe for each ear, then throw it away. Close the can so the rest stay wet.
Do they fit all fingers?
They fit most fingers and feel snug, like a soft glove. They work best on small and medium fingers. If you have larger fingers, try your pinky or index finger. Some reviewers with big hands say they're a tight fit.
Do the wipes go inside the ear?
No. Only clean the outer ear: the ear flap and the parts you can easily see. Never push your finger or the wipe down into the ear canal. If you see dirt deep inside the ear, leave it to your vet.
What if my pet won't sit still or tries to bite?
Go slow. Start when your pet is calm, wipe for just a few seconds, then give praise or a treat. Try one ear at a time if that's easier. Never force it. If your pet cries, pulls away in pain, or their ears seem sore, stop and talk to your vet.
How often should I use them? How long does one can last?
It depends on your pet. Many owners wipe the outer ears when they look dirty, or after a bath, a swim or a muddy walk. Your vet can tell you how often is best for your pet. Each can has 50 wipes. You use one per ear, so one can gives you about 25 full ear cleanings for one pet.
Can I use them on cats?
Yes! They're made for dogs and cats. Cats have small ears, so go extra slow, use light pressure and only wipe what you can see.
Do the wipes treat ear infections or ear mites?
No. These wipes are for routine at-home cleaning of the outer ear. They don't treat ear infections or ear mites, and they don't replace your vet. Please see your vet if your pet scratches their ears or shakes their head a lot, or if you notice redness, swelling, a bad smell or discharge.
